Touring Italy with The Orphan Brigade! Part 1

Last November along with some great musical and creative friends we released an album and a feature length Documentary called The Orphan Brigade - Soundtrack To A Ghost Story. Ben Glover, Neilson Hubbard, and I wrote all the songs together in an Octagon Shaped Antebellum house in Kentucky. Thanks to the great work of Appaloosa Records & big support from Italian music press and independent record stores we got to go on tour in Italy!

Here are a few pics from the first part of our trip! I packed light and only took 2 lenses. Almost all of these were taken with a 1970s Yashica 50mm F1.4 lens but a couple were on the Sony FE 28mm.

Starting with some portraits I took in a WWII bomb shelter in Bolzano while testing out the Yashica 50mm. This is the bandmates starting with Neilson Hubbard.

And me. I had Neilson take my camera and take one for me.

Early Morning streets. Neilson and I would set our alarms to wake before sunrise for moments like this.

Our visit to Apalloosa Records. It was an cool moment to see the Italian Print of our album.

I walked by the room in my hotel where they do the ironing and these pics were covering the walls

The Drive through the mountains to our next show. We played a special place in a beautiful mountain town in the North. The show was actually inside the old WWII era Bomb Shelter where I took the portraits.

Lots of beautiful abandoned homes and castles in the mountains. Someone told me that lots of them are from people who went to fight in WWII and never returned.
