A 1st taste of the Buffalo Blood project. We drove way out in the desert of Abiquiu, New Mexico hauling a mobile recording rig to capture these songs in remote outdoor locations and use the beautiful natural sounds of places like Echo Canyon & La Plaza Blanca.
This song tells the story of forced assimilation within the American Indian Boarding schools and one child who secretly carried his father's feather as a way to remember his past while being made to abandon his language and culture.
the video was made from timelapse footage Jim DeMain and I took throughout the recording process.
